Despite all geriatric odds, this “young at heart” 75-year-old is preparing once again to participate in the 50 km “Ride for Farley” charity bike ride on September 13.
Incredible as it seems, this will be my 13th consecutive ride. I feel truly blessed and grateful not only for the physical gift to ride but mostly for you - the friends and family who have supported me and the Ride for Farley over those years. This time, I have two goals: Raising money for a great cause as well as not having a random body part unexpectedly fall off.
The “Farley Fund” provides much needed financial assistance for sick or injured pets requiring veterinary care. One hundred percent of the money collected goes to this OVMA managed fund that is shared by all Ontario veterinary clinics. I sincerely appreciate the nearly $20,000.00 in financial support you have given me in past years and value your loyalty, friendship and generosity. With your help I hope to reach my $1,500.00 goal again this year!
