Hi Everyone!
As some of you may know, Riggs was recently diagnosed with a rare form of Kidney Lymphoma and is currently undergoing chemo treatments at OVC oncology in Guelph. During this journey to get a definitive answer and diagnosis Matt and I couldn't believe how much it costs to get all of these test done just to get the best care for our boy. It really had me thinking through all the vet visits what would we do if we weren't able to afford or have the support we have to help Riggs get the proper care he needs? It broke my heart... every visit we were given the option of "palliative care" or "make him comfortable" just in case we couldn't take that next step forward for him.
This had my wheels turning... how can we help others who are in a situation such as us but can't help their furry family member in the ways they want to?
Last year I fundraised for a GSD rescue in Ontario and this year this was more meaningful... My 10km ruck walk fundraiser at Pittock in Woodstock on October 5th (yes you can join me!) will raise funds for the Farley Foundation. A foundation that helps Ontario families subsidise costs for critical care, treatments and procedures for their furry loved ones. If you yourself need to use this service, let your vet know and they can assist with any questions you may have!
Help me reach my goal of $2,500!
